Well, I'll start from the begining. The developmental pediatrician recomend to get oudio-stories for my son so I got him "The Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything" it came in a bag with a tape and the book. He really like it, I remember that read the story a few nights and in the car I would give him the book and I would play the tape so he would look a the book while leasining to the story. Two days ago, I notice that he was looking a the pictures in the book and telling the whole story! I ask him if he can tell me the story; he stared to tell me the story all over again. He sound exacly as the voice in the tape, I was like  wouw!!
I like to know if anyone has an experiance like this one that I just mantioned and also what would you do if you know that your chil has this type of memory?

Graciela,
Catherine has done that as well. What I did was to get her more book and tape combinations, and let her listen and read along as many times as she wanted to. If she became tired of one, then we would start another one. She usually liked to do the same one over and over for a long time before moving on. We borrowed a few from the library and bought some. Another thing I did more recently was to buy her the Schoolhouse Rock DVD. I thought since she often watches the same thing over and over, it may as well be something educational that my husband and I loved as children. Would you believe she has learned most of her multiplication tables as well as many other useful things already?

She even wanted to be Tyrannosarus Debt, a character from Schoolhouse Rock, for Halloween and she helped me design the costume. So we were all three characters from Schoolhouse Rock this year. She was a cute red, white and blue dinosaur which represents the national debt, I was the Statue of Liberty and my husband, who is always such a good sport about these things, was Bill as in the Bills that become Laws when they are passed by Congress. Catherine won third prize in a costume contest and she had fun spending her prize, a gift certificate.

I know this is true with videos.

My daughter will echo parts of the movie just like they said it with the influx, tone everything. I can't believe how she remembers.

She goes a step further. Let's take Lion King the movie. At our daycare they have the audio-tape of the movie. When it's playing she will act out what is being done at that part of the movie of which part the song is playing. It took me a bit to figure this out.

She reenacts the movie as she hears the audio-tape. Pretty neat to see.

Hi my daughter who is 4 may be doing that in an simple way by remebering the pictures to a book callied brown bear brown bear with the color in the back or the book ,she remembers the colors to the animal in the book and what comes next this is how she learns right to left and left to right . She learn her number and letter so fast. she didn't speak 8mths ago now she nows her numbers ,letters but the sing she can't do the song for abc or number to fast. so we used cards to help her to learn. and sign lang to remember how to say a word but so as she learns it the signing goes alway. I can't beleive this she also learn how to say her name to. could she be doing the same thing. I'm in my first year of finding out about pddnos ao I'm new to this.
