Hello Group,
I wanted to make everyone aware of a new, forthcoming publication, The Autism Perspective. The publisher, Nicki Fischer, is very receptive to information of all kinds related to the autistic experience and I know that there will also be a self-advocates' voices forum. Please consider contacting Nicki (tell her I sent you) with your suggestions and submissions for potential publication. All the information is posted below.
Best wishes,
Bill
Dear Friends and Associates,
An exciting new magazine is about to be launched! The Autism Perspective (TAP) will be a national, quarterly and full-color publication devoted to the subject of autism spectrum differences; current research and best practices; persons with autism and those parents and professionals that love, care for, support and educate them. The advisory board is impressive, and the magazine will present a positive, upbeat and eclectic variety of perspectives! In addition to my article for the premiere issue, I have been asked to host a column that will run in future numbers.
Please review the announcement below, and visit the TAP website for subscription information at: http://www.theautismperspective.org/
As this is a grassroots endeavor at present, the publisher is also soliciting tax deductible contributions to offset start-up funds, and you can learn more about making a contribution on the website as well.
Please kindly forward this message on to anyone that may be interested in learning more about what promises to be a terrific new magazine.
Best wishes,
Bill

The Autism Perspective (TAP). The magazine will deal with a variety of issues from the “here and now” of everyday life. The first issue will cover one family's marriage issues. Dr. Greenspan wrote an article from his perspective on proper assessment. How we should learn to listen to each other from a psychologist’s perspective. State Senator Speier’s perspective about autism in California. Parents rights explained by California attorney advocate Valarie Vanaman. Bill Stillman writes about how he is experiencing this world. This is only a sampling of the content. TAP will have a variety of articles covering many of today’s triumphs, struggles, and hope. The magazine promises to be about options and different perspectives without taking sides. This will be a forum for discussion for everyone in the autism community. I encourage anyone that is interested in talking about their perspective and experience living in the autism community to contact me.
TAP is where voices can be heard and stories can be shared…
Please don’t hesitate to contact me for any additional information.
Thank you for your support and please help spread the word about TAP!
Warm Regards,
Nicki Fischer
