?? About trained teachers????

Do us as parent have the right to request training for the teachers that will be working for our kids. Is this regional or statewide?

I need to get my daughter's teachers educated IN AUTISM.

I think we do, but I have been looking for it in writing somewhere and I haven't found it yet. I'll keep looking and let you know if I find it.

One of my complaints about the special education teacher who taught my daughter last year was that she had no training in autism. She made a big point of showing me that she had signed up for an autism conference for herself and one paraprofessional. Of course, at that point I didn't care because she had choked my child and I didn't want her anywhere near Catherine even if she went to 100 autism conferences.
