eating issues

My 8yr old son's biggest sensory issue is with eating. It's like pulling teeth to get him to eat anything. Does anybody have any suggestions? I would appreciate some help.

Can you be reasonably certain he does not have gastroesophageal reflux or some other medical cause for his eating difficulty? If there is no medical cause, is there any food he actually likes to eat? Is his sensory difficulty more around the tastes and smells or more around the textures?

It's impossible to get him to taste anything new. He likes maple & brown sugar oatmeal, toast, peanutbutter and spegetti the most. He likes to touch his food so his issue is with textures.
