Hi all! I am on my way to figuring out if my 2 1/2 year old has Sensory Integration Dysfunction. I am meeting with and OT trained specifically in diagnosing this. I am also approaching her home ot for advice. Is there anthing else I should do? What made you all suspect that there was something going on with your kids? My little girls doesn't talk, has a chewing problem, is extremely hyper, doesn't seem to hear me when I talk to her (her hearing is fine) and loves to spin around and around. She is small with very poor muscle tone-although she is as strong as an ox. Her home therapists say she has gravitational insecurity and problems with he vestibular sense. She has global development delays. These are just some of the more obvious things that have been pointed out (and observed by me). She doesn't like to touch things and will fight tooth and nail if you try to toucg=h her and guide her. I am feeling so overwhelmed and want to make sure I go about this the right way. I am tired of getting my hopes up thinking I will finally find out what is going on and then falling flat on my face. Please help!!

Hi,
I think you are on the right path to finding out whats going on with your daughter.
My youngest went through the same thing when he was 2 1/2. She probably has sensory issues although I'm a mom not a doctor or a therapist. My son has autism, not
saying your daughter does. There are other reasons for these issues. My son has these
issues today but not too much, only when we are in an unfamiliar place. With all his therapy he's improved a great deal.Good luck and take care.
