New to site - Cleveland Area

I am the grandmother of an almost 4 yr old grson who has been diagnosed as PPD/NOS. Up to this time, his mother has been using a Family Practitioner as a pediatrician, however, I feel he should be seeing a regular pediatrician. I am looking for one in the Southwest Cleveland area who works with special needs children. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Hi there Margie, and welcome to AT. I personally think a pediatrician is a better choice for any young child over a general practioner. I don't know of any in Cleveland at all, but will try to research it out.

hi margie, i live in england so this may or may not be relevant to you, but our family doctor wasn't very much use whereas the peadiatrician we were referred to was excellant, both with a diagnosis and prognosis; he was also concerned about our older child and the effect this will have on him, he also linked us in with the community team, portage and an autistic unit within a mainstream school-good luck!;)
