Hello Everyone,
I live with my family in Brisbane Australia. My son is 13 yrs and 6'3" tall and was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when he was 7 yrs old. My daughter is 16 and doing all the teenage things. She is now in year 11 and is trying to work out her future. My husband is a Chartered Accountant and NO he is not the average accountant, he does have a good humour, but he also loves gadgets, loooves fishing. Myself migrated from Europe (born in Sweden, grew up in Germany) to Australian in 1973 and am having a ball living here since. I have been back to Europe several times, but when I come back to Australia it just reconfirms why I moved here, I just love it.
I have devoted my spare time to Asperger's Syndrome and am heavily involved in a Parent Support group for the last 6 years. I organise seminars, workshops, and Conferences. Our support group believes that community awareness is very important. I help also organise a support group for young adults with Aspergers. I find all these people fascinating. Everyone has so much to contribute. I also write our monthly newsletter.
Before our lives changed with the arrival of our son, I enjoyed dabbling in art (folk art), hand crafts, listening to jazz (Mainstream, Dixie, Blues) and being in general interested in people.
I'd better get off the line, to let someone else have a go.
