Well with lots of hard work on both mine and my sons part he finished Kindergarden today and will be starting grade one in the fall. No sooner were we home when I recieved and email from the principal stating that his scedule will be modified again next year. Not sure to what extent but I really was hoping he wouldn't be modified next year. Are your children on a shortned day or were they at that age?

Let me know what you think

Actually even at age 3 my daughter's day was the full school length of the day, with some therapies at home on weekends. At age 9, now entering 3rd grade her schoolwork, meaning school assignments are "modified" words are highlighted, change around a bit for her, but never the length of the hours in the day. I don't know much about your child, but is there a particular reason for the principal to want to shorten the time. If the class work is the problem, then I am sure, you can come up with "specials" to make up the time in school, for instance if he really enjoys, computers, have 2 classes of those, or music, have 2 of those, that's why there is an I in "IEP" I know of many children who could not handle the time in one classroom, or to be sitting for a long time, to make a schedule to fit the needs. Social skills classes, where there is a qualified personnel to take a small group of kids, and role play different scenerios....just some thoughts to ponder....Jodi
