Behavior problems

I have twin 12 year old girls with high functioning autism. They have progess
so much since infants. Everyone used to comment on their manners and behavior but in the last couple of years, i'm beginning to wonder where all that went. They both have become very destructve. Seems everything must be broken. This has been for a few years but is getting to be more serious episodes. Last evening they took all of the glass balls from the tree and took them to their room and broke everyone. When ask why of course they have no idea. They sneak so make me think they know exactly what they are doing. Although the evidence is not hidden. My feeling is that too much of their behavior has been blamed on autism and it is time to crack down on this. Am I wrong in my thinking? Where do I turn now and how do I deal with this?:confused:

My son although he is low functioning if we want to talk classifications is destructive in every sense of the word. I think in some way he is inquisitive to where he wants to disect things and at the same time he just likes to throw things. My daughters struggling snow glob collection is now back to zilch after a trip down the stairs. He has broken every one of her globes over time. I am sure a positive and negative reinforcement approach with your girls might be a good way to bring around a better awareness of right and wrong or at least it can't hurt. Hi, gramom i believe your right just because your grand-daughters are autisic should not give them excuses for everything. My daughters only three,but she knows everything you say to her so i agree i treat her like my other kids or their always gonna try you in all reality these kids are way smarter than us. good luck
