hello i am new around here and i was wondering if anyone had suggestion to medication for emotional behavior. My daughter has increasingly banging her head against the floor or hitting herself. she has begun pinching and biting mostly me. now she has mastered "the meltdown" what do i do? not big on having her sedated all day? These behaviors are when she cant have her way, or conviently at dr's offices. so help me please. thanks

Hi Haileemom07.
How old is your daughter? What nondrug solutions have you already tried to help her? What do you do now when she bangs her head or pinches or bites you?

hailee is 5 will be 6 in april i try to comfort her by rocking chair or singing row your boat, she does like it when i whisper in her ears, she had to be calm to hear me. i tell her no or stop. the tantrums last 1-2 minutes but every time she cant have what she wants she drops to the floor i try to get her interested in other things but then she pouts which is better i suppose

For every behavior there is an underlining reason.
Could she be experiencing pain of some sort. Tooth pain, headaches, or something else that you may not have considered before? Does these behaviors happen with any consistant time of day or after before any other behavior?
Think about it like this. Do an observation. Take notes without disturbing what is happening. Make notes of everything. If you do this a few times there might be a link that you can see as the reason for the behaviors.
Whatever behavior you want to remove you need to replace with another. Otherwise the child will replace it with something else that might be worse so teach an alternative behavior. Chewing on chewy tubes or talking about her feelings and giving her a way to identify and express them.
Just an idea.
