Hi,

I've recently met some of my new Albanian in-laws one of whom has a five year old, non-verbal, autistic son. Beyond the diagnosis they have had no professional support/help at all as there is only professional help in Albania for the very rich, as such they don't know how go about helping him.

Does anyone have any advice/basic pointers I could pass onto them?

Maybe you could send them a book about autism or if they have a computer, you could send them a list of websites.

I think that figuring out how to enable their non-verbal son to communicate in some way, maybe with PECS or something like that, would be very helpful.
